Ecological Stewardship Planning

It all starts with nature. The Collaborative’s trademarked Change for Good® approach produces plans and designs from the ground up that serve to sustain and grow healthy, equitable, and environmentally sound communities.

Trails & Boardwalks

Massachusetts

The Collaborative brings decades of experience designing trails and boardwalks that provide sustainable public access to natural and ecologically outdoor environments.

Trail designs range in length and character. For example, the now 8-mile-long Neponset River trail passes restored wetland marshes and upland wildlife habits. The Newbury Court Boardwalk in Concord, MA, designed by Bill Giezentanner before joining the Collaborative, provides an accessible boardwalk for residents of the nearby Newbury Court retirement community and general public to enjoy a walk through a quiet woodland setting. The wooden walk is constructed above ground on metal posts that protect the roots of trees along its path.
