Ecological Stewardship Planning

It all starts with nature. The Collaborative’s trademarked Change for Good® approach produces plans and designs from the ground up that serve to sustain and grow healthy, equitable, and environmentally sound communities.

Land Management Plan for Greenways Conservation Area

Wayland Conservation Commission & the Sudbury Valley Trustees, Wayland, Ma.

The 124 acres of conservation land jointly managed by the Conservation Commission and land trust is an ecological treasure enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year. The Collaborative’s Bill Giezentanner prepared a comprehensive plan including an inventory of the habitats and their flora and fauna and recommended actions for preserving, restoring, and enhancing each habitat.

The plan included a comprehensive trail assessment of the more than 2 mile network of existing trails with recommendations to make them more sustainable in the face of climate change. Laura Mattei, Director of Conservation, Sudbury Valley Trustees noted, “I appreciated how you provided your expertise on habitat and trails management to our management planning and how you helped us to improve our cooperative management relationship with the Town of Wayland.”
