The design for Busch Sculpture Garden at Rutgers University is made up of three layers.
First, the campus' science focus is reflected in the creation of symbolic settings. For example, sculptures are interlaced in a double helix pattern in the DNA Courtyard outside the Biology Center.
Second, the ridge-top landscape is celebrated with native plantings and expansive views.
Third, the design meets students' social needs, creating a central green for large gatherings and smaller courtyards for informal interactions.
