the COLLABORATIVE

For the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Collaborative designed a large-scale outdoor timeline exhibit documenting the remarkably swift 100-year trajectory of aeronautics from the Wright Brothers' first flight to the Moon Landing.

The exhibit debuted at NASA Ames Research Center's 2008 Yuri's Night celebrations in California. The exhibit is tactile, human, and participatory. Visitors are able to climb into "moon" boots while speaking with great aviation pioneers - Wilbur Wright, Amelia Earhart, and Yuri Gragarin - portrayed by costumed actors.
