Land use decisions can sometimes be contentious. This was the case in a land dispute between a developer, neighborhood group and municipality around a proposed development of a 6-acre brownfield site in the Alewife area of North Cambridge, MA.
In collaboration with a trusted colleague, the Collaborative designed and led a consensus building process.
Mixed teams of representatives from the various interests met weekly. Technical experts were brought in to provide perspective. And the end result was a mixed-use office, hotel and open space development that was acceptable to all parties.
